Avon skin so soft sunscreen is one of the best I have ever used. We use it all the time and we always have bug guard around too for those nights around the camp fire. It is a great time to stock up on these products as we have some sunscreen for sale right now! Skin so soft is one of Avon's best sellers. Don't pass this up. I have added some information from Science World below about how sunscreen works.  My Online Store The seasons are changing and we’re trading our toques for visors, rain boots for sandals, and umbrellas for sunscreen. But wearing sunscreen isn’t just a summer routine, it’s a great way to protect your skin from ultraviolet (UV) radiation throughout the year.   Types of  sunscreen   There are two types of sunscreen: physical sunscreens, which contain either titanium dioxide or zinc oxide and reflect UV rays away from the skin, and chemical sunscreens which contain chemicals that absorb the sun’s UV rays before it penetrates the skin.   Both physical and chem

Good skin care is the key

Avon has one of the largest and highest quality skin care regimens. Having a quality routine will set you up to have younger, firmer, glowing skin.  "Why is good skin care important? Good skin care is important for the following reasons: It helps your skin stay in good condition:   You’re shedding skin cells throughout the day, so it’s important to keep your skin glowing and in good condition. An effective routine can help prevent acne, treat wrinkles, and help keep your skin looking its best. Your skin will look more youthful:   As you age, your skin’s cells turn over more slowly, make it look duller and less radiant. Using a quality skin care line can help remove dead skin cells so your body will replace them with newer, more youthful cells. Prevention is easier than correction:   Preventing skin problems is easier -– and less costly – than trying to fix them in the future.  Your self-confidence will get a boost:  When your skin looks better, you’ll feel better about yourself

Happy Halloween

Halloween is upon us. How is your Halloween going to change this year compared to other years?  We have tried to keep some normal for our four boys. We took them to a pumpkin farm where they were able to play and have fun in the our doors socially distance with their masks on. We will be carving pumpkins tomorrow and then we have decided we will do trick or treating at home. Kids have lost so much in this pandemic, just as much as adults and they deserve some fun this year.  There is a way to do this safely, have your kids go to homes that you know who lives there, have them wear masks even under a mask, and carry a bottle of hand sanitizer and after each house use it.  This is our plan and from our family to yours  Happy Halloween!  Check out my online store
How is the pandemic affecting School Our new normal is just that our normal. Mask wearing, hand washing, social distancing it is just a way of life. I am noticing with my grandsons that it is just something that they are use to now. They just accept that this is the way of life. Never have I had an issue with them wearing their masks out in public and in school.  Our school district is doing something called hybrid school. So they are closed every Monday for cleaning and then the kids are split into two groups green and white one group goes to school two days a week the other group the other two and then on the days they are home they are doing what is called "remote" learning. What our school is doing is using paper packets and google classroom to supplement. This is the best we can do in this trying time but it is also very difficult on them. When kids are home they want to just be home and be kids they don't want to be in school at home so to get them to take it seri
How is the pandemic going to affect your holidays this year?  So many people are dealing with this right now and it is a hard topic to address. There are several holidays coming up Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This Nana has decided that her boys are not going trick or treating this year. I do not feel comfortable sending my boys to some strangers house to get candy from them and not know if these people have been sick, have been around someone who has been sick or what. So we will get doughnuts and cider and buy them all the candy they love and watch Halloween movies on TV and just have our family time. After all it is hopefully just one year that things have to be strange. Then comes Thanksgiving. We have a large family and usually have Thanksgiving at my sisters house with both sides of her family and well I just don't think that this year it is going to happen. Having that many people together in a home is probably not a smart thing to do with people who work in the
The older boys are off to school now and it is difficult as an adult to send them to school. Even though we are doing a hybrid model it is still scary that they are out in the public after keeping them home and safe for all these months.  To have to remember to pack a snack, a water bottle and now a clean mask every day. I am finding my youngest who is in Kindergarten and has sensory issues tends to chew on his mask and by the time he gets home it is soaking wet. Now this is not going to be a good thing for his skin and face. I am thinking maybe I should send him with a disposable mask that way he won't like to chew on it.  Being a parent especially as a grandparent in these uncertain times is definitely not an easy thing. I remember when I was raising my kiddos how exciting going to school was and how I looked forward to it every year. Now it is a lot of remembering schedules and what days they go and if it is an even or odd day or an a,b,c,d,or e day.  What these two days does
School like we have not seen it ever.  So our youngest grandson was supposed to be in his second year of a head start program. But Covid-19 messed that up. His program decided to be remote till 2021 and well our boy has a pretty big IEP of three days speech and two days OT a week. This Nana needed to do something quick.  So I knew there was a Universal Pre K in our district run by the YMCA my kids went to it and so did my nephew and my one grandson. So I called the special ed department yesterday and they helped me to get the information. I went right in as there were 3 spots left and with the head start not starting they will be filling up quick. As I was sitting there filling out the paperwork the secretary told me "get it done by 2 pm (it was 1:30 pm) and he can come tomorrow. You better believe this Nana got that paperwork all done. He is going from a full day program where he rode a bus to a 2.5 hr program where I drive him. But he needed a place to be face to face where hi
